Father nabbed for sexual attack on daughter, loses virginity
Chikhwawa police station on Sunday arrested a 36-year-old man for sexually assaulting his own biological daughter and broke her virginity.
The police spokesperson, Sunday Nguluwe identified the man as Maxwell Migano of Mafumbi Village Village, T/A Makhwira Chikhwawa district. He defiled her 13 year old daughter.
The father is reported to have shared with his wife that one day he will utilise his efforts and benefit his sweat from her daughter, the mother took it so lightly thinking this was just a snuck of the loving father through cracking jokes to his wife.
The prophesy came into pass when the father on Saturday when he defiled her as mother was out for irrigation of their garden.
In her return from the garden, the victim reported to her mother about the incident. The mother then reported the matter to police.
The victim was later taken to the hospital for medical examination and the report shows that the girl had bruises, sperms and some blood surrounding the sexual part which confirmed that she was really defiled.
A local NGO in the district that focuses on child rights, Centre for Children’s Affairs has expressed a deep concern over the matter.
“I really don’t know where this world is going, we really need God’s intervention,” said the NGO’s Executive Director Moses Devlin Busher.
“We can recall very well that just the past month in Mchinji a woman dumped the 4 year old son for marriage. In Ntchisi, Daudi Matunda defiled his step daughter, on August 10. A 20 year old man defiled 11 year old girl in Zomba.
“On 7th August police in Chikhwawa arrested 5 people in connection to the death of the 7 year old girl in Ngabu. Police in Dedza buried a boy who had his eyes, tongue and private parts removed. In the north a girl was defiled and then killed and a woman gave birth and killed the baby using the hoe and buried the baby, you can just see how these issues are following each other, it really indicates that we have a lot to be done in Malawi.”
Busher said act affects badly for the rest of the life of the girl, from academic, growth psychologically, mentally and even in her marriage she will be affected.
“It’s really sad that a man instead of taking his fully invested responsibility to protect the girl, it has changed now the father is the first person to abuse the girl, where should we expect these girls to get the protection from. I want also to give credit to the good job that the police is doing in Chikhwawa, it is really very recommendable job,” said NGO leader.
The man is currently in police custody waiting for court.
