First day CD sales excite Lulu
Lilongwe based singer, song writer, musician, and multi-instrumentalist and producer, Lawrence Khwisa, popualry known as Lulu, says the initial sales from his first day of CD sales for his new album ‘Ndakudziwa’ have been so overwhelming that he has been unable to cope with the demand.
Lulu released CDs for this highly anticipated on Tuesday morning but all the CDs had sold out by the end of the day.
The gifted guitarist, who used to make his own guitars to harbour his fascination for the instrument, is also a fascinating performer and is backed by his band Mathumela.
“I had delivered 70 CDs at Crossroads in the morning but they called me after two hours to say all the CDs had bene sold,” sthe artist who recently woowed the Malawian community in Ireland with his performances there told Nyasa Times.
According to Lulu, the demand for his CD is high but he intends to supply the market with the product before the launch this month-end.
“We want people to have the music by the time of the launch so that they they are familiar with the music,” said the Lilongwe-based musician.
‘Ndakudziwa’ is Lulu’s fourth album and it contains the radio and club bangers Nzalera, Mtima Wakana and Mponyele.
Lulu also participated in the just ended Malawi Fashion Week 2013 and produced the Malawi Fashion Week 2013 theme song titled ‘Malawi Tiye’ earlier this year, which talks about the change in Malawian fashion.
