Fischer returns for Bullets as they draw with Zomba United

Flames midfielder Fischer ‘Anong’a Jah man’ Kondowe finally made his much anticipated return to the Bullets fold on Saturday in a TNM Super League game against Zomba United at the Kamuzu Stadium.

Kondowe,  who has been without a club for a long time after being released by his South African club, was searching for a local club to join but looked undecided despite training with Bullets and Escom to keep fit.

Reports indicated that he wanted to join Silver strikers or Blue Eagles but he later denied the reports,  saying he wanted to rejoin Bullets. Attempts were made by Bullets officials to get him back but Anong’a was non commital and Bullets gave up on him.

He later shocked the soccer fratenity when he announced that he was joining a social team called “Blacks”.

Kondowe: Return for Bullets

The midfield workhorse resurfaced earlier this week with another tune of rejoining the ‘peoples team.’ He was taken seriously this time and commited to joining his former side and played on Saturday against Zomba United.

He showed some flashes of his former self with wonderful ball distribution and crosses but still lacked match fitness after staying for a long time on the sidelines.

“Its good to be back,I want to help my team,I have always been a Bullets player and was just waiting for the right time and here I am now,” he told Nyasa Times after the match.

He conceeded though that it won’t be easy to  regain full fitness but says he is determined to work hard and help Bullets regain its lost glory.

On his return, Bullets failed to collect maximum points and had to settle for a goalless draw to share the spoils despite creating some good scoring opportunities.

In another TNM Super League game, relegation threatened Cobbe shocked Azam Tigers with a 3 – 2 victory.

Isaac Maluwa scored for Tigers while Thomas Maloya, Moses Nankumba and Dick Chirwa won the match for Cobbe.

Tigers coach Leo Mpulula blamed his defence and goalkeeping for the loss.

“We should not lose to a team that is fighting relegation,we are fighting for the title and should be winning such encounters but anyway,my goalkeeper let us down today” he told Nyasa Times after the game.
