Fam Competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed the good news through a statement released on Wednesday.

Sayama FC striker Chikondi Chisasa emerged the top scorer in the Southern Region, Harry Mwala of Lake Valley conquered Central Region while Smith Kadawati of Zolozolo emerged the top scorer in the Northern Region.

Chisasa netted six goals including a hat trick in his sides 5-2 win against Nsanama FC in the semifinals. He also scored a brace against Dululu FC in the Sothern Regional Fisd Challenge Cup regional finals.

Mwala  hit five goals to guide his team Lake Valley to Central Region Championship.

In the north, Kadawati also netted six goals in two matches including one against Rumphi Pirates in the northern region regional finals.

In his remarks, Zakazaka said the players deserved the awards.

“The players deserve the awards as they scored good number of goals in few matches. Their goals per game ratio is just amazing” said Zakazaka.

Zakazaka said he hopes the players will continue to show their scoring prowess in the round of 16 round as they face elite league clubs.

“The good thing is all the three players will appear in the round of 16 and we hope they will show their scoring prowess against Super League teams” he said.

However, the Fam competitions Manager said the goals scored on regional phase will not count for the golden boot award as counting for the award will start at national phase from round of 16.

“I must emphasize here that for the national phase top goal scorer, the goal counting will start from the round of 16,” said Zakazaka.

Meanwhile, Fam has released dates and venues for the round of 16 matches to be played on 23rd, 25th, 26th and 29th October 2016.
