  1. Ma license a pa window nkhani zake ndizimenezi… Highway code ija imafunika kuidziwa….hw in the world can a driver overtake a vehicle without physically checking all ha blind spots? Stupidity at its best

  2. Extremely sad, may their soul rest in eternal life, plz drive safety in the roads of Malawi don’t be over speeding, check if the road is clear. Time is too short by doing your over speeding.

  3. That is where personal identity cards are of paramount importance. Nanga anthu adzichita kumakafufuza Ku mortuary zowona.

I edge all drivers to go for defensive driving and at least 2 years of driving experience before you start driving long distances like BT to LL.
There are three golden rules to avoiding road accidents; drive a car which is fit on the road, be skilled and smart on the road and don’t drive under any influence be it alcohol, excitement, sadness, any drug, fatigue and many more.

  4. I’ve seen overtaking by automatic cars where acceleration is poor because, unlike in manual cars, it is not possible to change down a gear to boost acceleration. Could this have contributed to this tragic incident?

  5. “May their souls rest in peace”

On the spot of accident, Nobody to be blamed coz (for example) i have been overtaking other vehicles without observing what we call traffic rules and regulations for so many times but God has been saving me yet others are going through the same nature, May the mercy almighty Allah covers their families “InshaAllah”

    1. Are you sure that all thieves who don’t get caught need not be blamed coz they manage to escape?
Let us not make mistakes of our forefathers by continuing to wear the mind of a Zinjanthropus while we are homosapiens.
The fact that you you haven’t yet met your fate does make your failure to observe traffic rules and regulations, a right thing to do.
We all need to be responsible on the road, for the sake of others; if we care less about ourselves!

  6. Too bad,may their souls rest in peace. Advice to drivers, please overtake when you are absolutely sure there is no vehicle coming ahead. Never take the left indicator of the vehicle ahead for granted, some drive just fool you to overtake.

  7. So sad to die at this tender age. Linthipe 3 is a dangerous point to cruise and overtake. The accident prone zone ranges from the bridge at 3 to chimbiya as we go to Lilongwe and to dedza police check point as we travel to Blantyre. Drive safely my brothers and sisters this festive season.

  8. Too bad for the departed souls. The driver of the small car ignored the Highway code rules and just started overtaking another vehicle knowing for sure that there was another vehicle coming from the opposite direction! Hence,Phwaah!! and five lives lost in a flash of seconds.

  9. That place has numerous blind spots and its safer my fellow drivers to be patient before making a decision to overtake.

  10. This is all because of Plan Malawi country director who is busy promoting organisations from Kenya where she is from amd hurting local organisations. Pamoja Africa is the organisation and the organisation has employed foreign staffs believed to be relations and also related to the first lady including Patricia kaliati. The lady director has also been involved in active politics basically she pushes resources towards BEAM trust. She has grown untouchable wings because even the chair of NGO Board does not implement the instruments of the board as she happens again to be immersed in the dirty politics and she let international organisations to implement at the expense of local organisations as the law stipulates.

Sorry don’t shot the whistle blower am just a messager.

Lilly Omondi owns the the foreign organisation enjoying funding in Malawi with programmes at the grassroot

Malawi wake up the country is taken up by foreigners inside out

Now this is very sad! You know, its not necessary to die young!
Many a Malawian driver do this!
. . . They overtake when the road ahead is not clear, either an uphill or a corner . . .
    . . . They overtake but do not speed up . . .
You drive a Toyota Passo, you miscalculatedly leave your lane in an attempt to overtake a long-vehicle and you don’t speed up to outrun it or underestimate the in-coming vehicle’s speed? This is sad!
The saddest part of it is, by the error of another; others have died along. With how many days to wrapping up the year 2015? Sad! Indeed death, just as time; is a savage!
