Malawi national football team (Flames) star Francis Mlimbika wedded his long time fiancé Tendai Nomsa Phiri in colourful ceremony in the commercial city Blantyre.
Mlimbika, who plays for Mighty Wanderers, wedded Tendai at St James Catholic Parish in Chilomoni with their beautiful reception in the same township.
The wedding was blessed by the parish priest.
In his preaching, the priest advised the couple to” lead by example”, to tolerate each other whenever they have differed in their family.
“Francis you have set a good example to your fellow players who have not married yet. I also urge you to use contact and dialogue when you differ. In each and every family there are problems but do not let Satan to rule you,” said the priest.
Francis and Tendai have one child.
During the wedding ceremony there were a number of players and officials in attendance from his club Wanderers.
The Nomads chairman George Chamangwana commended Mlimbika for marrying his long time sweetheart describing it as a good example to other players.
“l am so happy because Mlimbika has set a good example to young and upcoming players. He is such a
well disciplined player and l am happy for him and his family,” said Chamangwana.
Mlimbika hails from Mchinji district while Tendai is from Nkhota kota.
