Friday Jumbe quits politics for evangelism, farming

Former minister of Finance Friday Jumbe who contested in 2014 presidential race as candidate for New Labour Party has said he has decided to quit front-line politics and focus  on  things that will bring forth the greatest spiritual benefit to his life.

Jumbe: No more politics

Jumbe ruled out contesting in 2019, saying his focus now is on evangelism and farming.

After the 2014 elections, government appointed Jumbe as CEO of the yet-to-be-established Malawi Development Bank. He was given a five-year contract to head the bank.

But he sued for  K584 million as compensation for ‘unfair dismissal’

In his 2015/16 National Budget Statement delivered in Parliament on Friday, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Goodall Gondwe said government has been consulting on the establishment of a development bank.

He has no money. Modern politics is financially demanding. How can you run a successful campaign when you have no money and this is why Mathews Chikaonda has joined politics because he he amassed wealth that he can spend on political campaign. Let welwishers give Jumbe MK200 million, you will see how he will backtrack and say he has decided to revive the so called New Labour Party. It is only people with money who can habour political ambitions and fight for positions.

BRAVO JUMBE!! You have taken progressive decision to distance yourself from Malawi’s evil politics and concentrate in the affairs of God.Afterall, there is no politics in Malawi since Banda dismissed the first Cabinet of the most intelligent and focussed leaders of our time. What we have today is a gang of thieves, tribalists, corrupt, fools and politically dead-bodies.I wish you bright future in your new endeavours,God be with you,AMEN!!!
