Fury as Sipho Makhabane’s live in concert cancelled at eleventh hour
Malawians who flocked to Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) on Friday night left the venue in anger and disbelief after the much anticipated Sipho Makhabane’s live in concert failed to take place due to poor organization.
The concert was organized as part of celebrations for 5th and official launch of the 50th edition of the National Product Magazine whose Managing Director is Steve Chinyamula.
Nyasa Times understands that the show was cancelled because the organizers did not pay for the venue the live concert was supposed to take place.
At the thick of things, Chinyamula who was reluctant to give an interview was caught on camera refusing to talk to Television journalists saying he deserve to have his reputation protected.
He however claimed to have done everything any organizer could have done to ensure the concert takes.
But he later admitted that he never paid for the hall the concert was supposed to take place as he was hoping to raise the needed amount through ticket sales.
Chinyamula also failed to meet the expenses of bringing in the entire members of Makhabane’s band.
Speaking after it was confirmed that he will not perform, Makhabane could not hide his disappointment.
“Its a sad story its not a good one just to fly all the way and find things are not organised. It is a very bad thing, a bad story that people wanted to see me performing being the first time to come here,”said Makhabane.
Makhabane, however, said he once went through such experience when he went to perform in Zambia where they had the accomodation not paid for and ended up paying for themselves but it was a different version with the Malawi experience because in Zambia, all happened after they had accomplished their mission of performing.
Meanwhile, Makhabane says he will make all the arrangements through local colleagues and has promised to come back just to say sorry to his fans who he said have made tremendous contribution to his long blossoming music career.
Makhabane is one of the most celebrated African gospel artist known all over the world.
One of his famous hits of all times is ‘Over and Over’.

Steve Chinyamula is a Crook, and Police do not arrest him because he is related to Peter Muthalika, he has duped many people since 2014 using Muthalika’s name and Party Official release him when police arrest him.

You cant trust Stieve Chinyamula, he is crooked and has several cases with the police, he has been seen in hand cuffs in hotel premises for unpaid bills, borrowed cars have ever been confiscated for unpaid bills and now he has duped Malawians. Shame.
