Gaba happy to fight for Celtic place

Malawi national football team striker Frank Gabadinho Mhango has been assured of a place at his South African top league side Bloemfontein Celtic despite struggling at the beginning of this term.

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen said the Malawi star and his striking partner Lerato Lamola are not leaving the Siwelele next season.

This comes in the wake of reports linking the two players with a move away from Cletic.

“All the players are tied. There is no-one leaving the club,” Larsen said.

Both Mhango and Lamola have had fantastic seasons in the colours of Celtic with the latter currently amongst the top scorers in the league with 11 goals.

The Malawian striker has already been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs but Larsen says all his best players are staying with his team for next season.

Gabadinho has won the heart and confidence of the coach after scoring a brace in Celtic’s thumping 5-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

So far he has scored three league goals but last was one of the Golden Boot Award contenders having scored eight goals just two shy of the winner Bernard Parker.

Celtic are currently perching on position five in the PSL in the 26-team log table with 37 points from 26 games to go with just four games to spare before the league winds up.

  4. It pains me when reporters are as ignorant as the one writing this article. Confidently writes “a 26 team league”. If you don’t know you can search on the internet. This means you did not make a thorough research before writing your article. The general truth behind the article is also doubtful. We may later discover Gaba is moving to Chiefs. Can you stop reporting and go back to school.
