Gabadinho named Presidential cup best player

Big Bullets lethal striker Gabadinho Mhango has been named Presidential Cup Player of the Tournament after he ended Bullets’ 8 year trophy drought by scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Moyale Barracks at Civo Stadium on Saturday.

The Bullets striker, who has been included in the Flames travelling to Ghana for crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier next weekend said he was delighted with his achievements.

“It is really exciting to win the player of the tournament award. There were great players in this tournament but to be voted the best of them all feels good.”

Gabadino: Hot-shot

Gabadinho added that for one to have been able to score so many goals in a tough competition like the Presidential Cup, one needed to be focused and dedicated.

“We worked hard as a team and they deserve to be applauded as well for creating so many chances for me to score the goals. But the most important thing is the team winning a trophy after such a long time,” beamed the striker.

Gabadinho scored within the opening five minutes of a well patronized final which was graced by retired Chief Justice Richard Banda. The goal was his seventh of the tournament.
