Gabadinho scoops Bidvest Wits top scorer award

Malawi international striker Frank Gabadinho Mhango has scooped Bidvest Wits the top scorer award at his club for the 2016/17 season.

The announcement was made at Bidvest’s End of the year galla award ceremony held on Wednesday evening in Johannesburg , South Africa.

But Thulani Hlatshwayo was the toast of the night after scooping two major awards of Player of the season as well as Player’s Player of the season.

Reeve Froster was decorated with the Youngest Player of the Year award while Sifiso Hlanti and Buhle Mkhwanazi were handed Coach’s and Chairman’s awards respectively.

Wits had its ever successful year last season winning their first ever Absa Premiership title and the MTN8 Cup.

Mhango finished third on the list of league top goal scorers with nine goals.

Lebogang Manyama of Cape Town City FC won the over golden boot award with 13 goals followed by Tendai Ndoro of Orlando Pirates who netted 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Mhango and Hlatshwayo have been shortlisted for the 2016/17 MTN8 Last Man Standing awards. The results for the MTM8 award will be released on 10th July, 2017.
