Seeking God is something that should be done by God’s children each day not only in times of trouble. Our God is love and always with us all the time not only on specific times. There is no single time that our God has ever left by our side for He is our strength, keeper and protection for; “Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4).
God needs a relationship with all of us not only when we need something from Him; “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Take note that this is a condition for His blessings; His interests are to be first. This relationship can be built if we seek Him and read the scriptures all the time.
There is power in scriptures as the bible tells us that the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow (Hebrews 4:12). This means that it is only the word of God that can quicken us to be what we ought to be as we are transformed to His image.
As we read the word of God something starts happening inside us that makes us desire the things of God even more. Then it becomes easy to spend more time in His presence.
When the Apostles prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. The prayer was answered and they were at the same time strengthened in the Spirit as they were able to speak the word of God with boldness.
This is what is needed today in the church, to be people who are very strong in spirit. If we are strong in Spirit, the enemy will not even have a way of attacking us because we will be able to speak to the enemy with boldness and claim what belongs to us “resist the devil and he will free from you” (James 4:7).
God’s children should know that God is not just sitting in heaven and watch when His children are being destroyed, but it is us who have separated ourselves from our God (Isaiah 59:2). It is God’s will that we can turn from our wicked ways, and seek His face again so that he can fellowship with us even more.
It is not a secret that those that spend quality time in His presence are the ones that are able to see God’s miracles and powers than those that do not have the time to spend with God. Therefore let us make it a habit to spend time with God in prayer and seek His face as this is the only time that He will be able to reveal His true nature to us.
