Gospel duo POV to release DVD compilation
Blantyre-based gospel duet, The Mighty POV, will be releasing a DVD compilation featuring some of their best known songs.
The compilation will have a selection of songs from their four albums, namely ‘Tiankhandwe’, ‘Lipenga’, ‘Madalitso Mbwembwembwe’ and the latest ‘Ambuye Mukundimva’.
This was disclosed by Isaac Chizaka, POV’s lead vocalist, who was speaking in an interview with Nyasa Times.
But according to Chizaka, the DVD compilation, due for release end March, 2014, is yet to be titled.
“We are yet to give it a title, but it will have 10 videos selected from all our albums,” Chizaka said.
The musician promised gospel music lovers in the country the very best of a gospel DVD.
Some of the songs to make it onto the compilation are ‘Thupili’, ‘Tinalimbana’, ‘Shosholo’, ‘Mtima Tadekha’ and what is probably the gospel hit of the moment, ‘Ambuye Mukundimva’.
Speaking about the duo’s latest album, released in October, Chizaka said “the new CD is doing well on the market”.
The Mighty POV was founded in 2001 with first members Chizaka, Graham Nkhoma, Tionge Mwangonde as well as Lusubiro and Simalike Sikwese.
After time, the other four members left the group due to other engagements and Chizaka was later joined by Omex Chimpeni and George Adams.
But as indicated by Chizaka, Adams is also no longer with the POV.
