Great Angels in nationwide Mwasankha Ine CD re-launch
Gospel music makers Great Angels have announced a nationwide tour to re-launch its Mwasankha Ine CD album so that fans who haven’t patronized live performances of the newly released album get a chance.
Great Angels’ music director William Zonda told Nyasa Times that the choir will target the cities of Zomba, Blantyre and Mzuzu.
In January, the choir had a grand launch in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe.
According to Zonda, the choir will be at Gymkhana Club in Zomba next Saturday, Robins Park in Blantyre on March 29 and Boma Park in Mzuzu on April 5.
“They will be best performances for the Easter season,” bragged Zonda. “Our fans should expect fireworks as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Artists lined up to support Great Angels during the shows include Thocco Katimba, Favoured Martha, Limbani Sementi, Ethel Kamwendo-Banda, Mlaka Maliro, Kelvin Sato, Martha Nthakomwa, Marvelous Deeds, Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers and Peter Mlangeni.
Charges will be K1 000 per head.
Mwasankha Ine is arguably the bestselling album in Great Angels’ music history. It sold more than six million copies during the January 1 launch at the confluence of Gospel Music Lovers at Sheaffer ICA Marque in Lilongwe.

Israel Defence Force, this is why spiritual groups have now turned into entertainers and not preachers. People now go such events just to feel good of dancing as opposed to bars and beer halls. No impact to spiritual life. Shame! How many of those are real, real, real I mean real singers who are able to from their hearts and not outside?

Congrats guys you are doing a great work but can you correct the figure mistake noone in Malawi has even reached a million copies of music sales as far as I know Cosoma still has Nkasa at the highest selling musician with 300,000 copies. Malawi hasn’t reached that level of consuming music up to even a million copies so six million should be either a reporter’s mistake or your mistake correct it otherwise you are doing a great job keep it up
But their charges incase you need them to support you are exorbitant and i may wonder why they need the other artists to support them fully. The tone, incase you make an enquiry is very unfriendly. K350,000.00 to be a supporting group is more like being their own show. I wonder if they will cough like K350,000.00 to each supporting artist in the mentioned list. make an enquiry and hear for yourself. They are a good team but waaa! damn expensive

ALL THE BEST….but you only need one or two supporting artist(s) per session. More than three dilutes the essence of it being your show, it just becomes another choir or gospel festival! get that?
Six Million???
6 million copies in January? Not even in their life time can they sell that much, not in Malawi and not anywhere else. I know great international artists with great songs sell less than a million copies in ten years.
