Dunga: Be More race

Dunga said he was inspired by the idea of “Be More” by Standard Bank hence donation of the book which talks about how one can beat the odds on the road to achieving their life goals

.“I want people to be more to achieve more. That’s the message of my book “Grit”. Reading “Grit” will help the runners prepare for the race and life in general,” said Dunga.

Dunga said just like the Be More race, greatness is achieved over the long term and requires all who pursue it to adopt a gritty mindset on their road up.

“Never ever give up on your goals and dreams again. Be gritty. Be prepared to live your life like a marathon, always looking forward to the long stretch. Have passion and perseverance,” he said.

Standard Bank Head of Marketing Thoko Unyolo said the bank was excited to see more individuals and companies joining the race.

The race has been split into three key legs of 5 km, 10 km and 21 km for both men and women and children above the age of 10 years.

The “Be More Race” will run its course from Lilongwe City Centre’s national landmarks such as Parliament, Reserve Bank of Malawi, a Wildlife nature sanctuary, former President Kamuzu Banda’s mausoleum, the Bingu wa Mutharika International Conference Centre and hotel and the Presidential Palace before finishing on the city’s outskirts at Kumbali Village.

Over K2.5 million is up for grabs for the top three winners of the 21-kilometre marathon.
