The police publicist added: “In his health passport book, it shows that Jackson was diagnosed with HIV and Tuberculosis on 21 January this year and that he was put on Anti Retroviral ( ARV) treatment.”

Ishmael Daudi, Member of community policing who also identified the dead person said Mwase has been refraining from taking his ARV’s such that he was drinking and smoking excessively.

“He was diagnosed HIV positive and started receiving ARV’s. As you know, when one is on ARV’s it is advised to refrain from excessive beer drinking and smoking. Jackson did not adhere to this such that he used to drinking and smoking like nobody’s business,” said Daudi.

Mwase, before he died, looked weak and hungry. The police found Mwase already dead with a bottle of ARV’s besides him.
