Police in Machinga have discovered human bones near Liwonde Bus Depot with a payslip of a pensioner bearing the name Daniel Michael of Siyama Village, Traditional Authority Liwonde, Machinga on the bones.
Detective Inspector Blackson Muheya of Liwonde Police said a young man who went to wee in the nearby bush discovered the bones and reported the matter to police.
Muheya said the man might have died two weeks ago.
“The bones were scattered around the bush as a skull, hands and leg bones were disjointed. It is believed that dogs scrambled for his flesh,’’ suggested Inspector Muheya.
The police buried the bones on the scene the same day and investigations are underway to discover the cause of death.—Mana
