Hypa ropes in Juda Gaga, Krazie G and Suffix on Revolver’s tribute

He irked fellow artists when he claimed the Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu kingship in Trap Squad’s hit “So what?” Year 2017, Hypa returns with “Reincarnation”, a tribute to late Revolver.

On the new song, Hypa has linked up with female rhyme slayer Juda Gaga, Krazie G and Holy Hip Hop artist Suffix.

Speaking in an interview, Hypa described “Reincarnation” as a song about an artist crying over the death of his mentor/friend/brother.

“Revolver was my mentor. He was like a big brother. He taught me a lot of things as an artist and a friend, his influence on me helped bring out hidden talent amongst the crowd like some sort of a Chain reaction.

“It would be disrespectful for me to get back in the game without firstly recording something dedicated to my brother. The song is basically me pouring my heart out, venting to my fans and also trying to reach out to revolver for blessings as I once again pursue my music .All this to show appreciation to the legend for all the help he provided me with in the industry,” Hypa explained.

He added, “I am venting to his fans over the loss of the Icon, but somehow I believe the legend lives on hence the title “reincarnation”.

The “Sindidanda” hit maker, Revolver succumbed to gastric cancer in November 2016.

Quizzed on why he took so long to release the song, Hypa responded, “I couldn’t record this whole time because I was mourning; my heart and mind weren’t in the right state. Plus I had to give his family space to mourn as well.”

The song was produced by Evanz muzik and V2.

Late Revolver and Hypa collaborated on a few hit songs and rumour had it that Hypa was signed to Revolver’s Trap Squad label.

Apart from “Reincarnation”, Hypa has also released “public statement” and “Hazel Mak freestyle”.
