Inmates at Zomba prison are starving as authorities at the facility are failing to provide meals.
Both the inmates and officials at Zomba Central Prison confirmed that there has been no food at the facility for the past days.

Sources say inmates have gone for six days without food.
However, spokesperson for Prisons Chimwemwe Shaba said the inmates have not been provided with food for three days.
Shawa said the elderly and sick prisoners are being provided with nsima while the rest are surviving on pegion peas rations.
He further said the Central Prison has found itself in this predicament due to a lack of August funding.
