Irate man dips foe in boiling beer porridge in Malawi
An 18 year old man is battling for his life at Mzimba District Hospital after he was intentionally thrown into boiling traditional beer porridge.
Mzimba police spokesman Lingson Kangaudzu alleged 20 year old Khumbo Shaba forcibly carried Gondwe and threw him into the boiling hot beer porridge after the two had picked a quarrel at the traditional beer brewing and drinking spot in the district.
“They were drinking together when suddenly Shaba carried Gondwe and dipped him in the boiling porridge. It all happened in a flash of time that people had no time to rescue Gondwe from being thrown into the beer porridge,” Kangaudzu said.
The police publicist said Gondwe, who worked at the same place as a traditional beer brewer, sustained life threatening wounds throughout his body.
“However doctors say he is responding well to medication although he is in great pain,” said Kangaudzu.
Shaba has since been charged with grievous bodily harm and is on full remand at Mzimba police station.
