A local leading brand in iron sheets and roofing manufacturing, Super Sakuwa Steel Limited will soon open a new manufacturing plant in Blantyre in a bid to bring their products closer to customers in the southern part of the country.

Sakuwa Building Project

Super Sakuwa’s Marketing and Sales Executive, Enoch Chithonje, disclosed in an interview barely few weeks after opening another manufacturing plant in the northern region.

“We are extending to Southern Region, and that is Blantyre,” he revealed

Chithonje did not indicate exact dates for the opening but said few preparations remains before commencement of operations and that the new plant in Blantyre is situated few miles away from Kameza roundabout along Chileka International Airport road.

He said the opening of this plant in Blantyre, the commercial city of Malawi, will be a milestone and it will respond to the needs and demands of its customers in the region.

“We noted the ever increase demand of our products which was growing at a faster rate, no wonder we thought it wise to come and get closer to them so that they can at least access our products at ease,” explained Chithonje

He said the company has been facing number of challenges when supplying their products from their main plant located in the central region in the capital, Lilongwe, to all districts in the southern region.

Chithonje therefore expressed hope that the new plant in the region will help to halt obstacles it is facing as it transports products on road from their main factory to all districts in the southern part of the country.

Super Sakuwa Steel company recently opened another regional manufacturing plant in Mzuzu to carter for the customers in northern region.

“We have launched a new plant which will be manufacturing iron sheets of all our range of products. We are coming in with fully fledged factory for the people in Mzuzu and all surrounding districts,” he said

“We have been having ever increasing demand for our commodities by people of Mzuzu and northern region districts, so we want to ease that pressure by providing our products at their doorstep,” added Chithonje

In Mzuzu the regional factory is situated along M1 road next to Mzuzu ADMARC just few kilometres away from the city as you head to Lilongwe.

Chithonje disclosed that the multimillion investment in Mzuzu costed the company over K150 million to build.

Through these regional expansion projects, Chithonje said the company will support the country’s economy as these new plants will increase labour force. He added that as an equal opportunity employer, Super Sakuwa will also give opportunity to inexperienced persons to work as interns at its sites in order to allow them gain some experience.

He also appreciated support the company is receiving from customers across the country.

Chithonjr described this support as indication “that people have trust and confidence in our products” and has since promised that the company will continue to provide customers with durable steel roofing material that includes iron sheets made in various profiles including Versitile, Corrugated and IBR.
