Addressing a rally at Makheta Primary School ground in Blantyre, Mussa said Mhango, Minister of Finance Goodall Gondwe and Minister of Agriculture Allan Chiyembekeza should step down, accusing them of being weakest link in cabinet.

But Mhango, who is also government spokesman, said he will not resign.

Mhango said Uladi is “naive” who will always see the negative side of government.

But asked whether he’d resign, he said: “Not at all. Uladi is not the Head of State.”

Finance Minister Gondwe and Agriculture Minister Chiyembekeza also said they would not resign but declined to say much on the matter.

During the PP rally, Uladi also accused President Peter Mutharika led government or  not doing enough to address social and economic challenges Malawians are facing and warned Malawians to brace for economic woes as the current administration is clueless and in deep slumber.

The party also advised President Mutharika and his government to inject more resources into Admarc for procurement of maize from farmers.

The outspoken Salima Parliamentarian futher said “clueless” Mutharika and his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government is “just good at diverting people’s attention from real issues” needing urgent attention from the Malawi leader.

He further said it was time government invested heavily in irrigation farming to move away from rain fed agriculture.

The rally was attended by almost all PP senior officials, including  vice-president Ralph Jooma, publicity secretary Ken Msonda and Betson Majoni, a veteran politician who is the PP campaign director , deputy treasurer general Yusuf Matumula,  National Director of Women Clara Makungwa, and Provincial Governor  (South) Isaac Nyakamera.

Also present were Joyce Banda’s sister Cecilia Kumpukwe, director of women affairs Clara Makungwa, mayor of the City of Mzuzu William Mkandawire and his deputy Frazer Chunga.

Mr.Therere,Iam not sure whether you went to school. The duty of the opposition is to oppose where the government has gone wrong. The government in power has its own advisers,so I think you are confused with these two words: oppose and advise.Anyway, the name itself “Therere” speaks volumes”

The problem of corruption is a universal phenomenon since the dawn of multiparty. All parties in government have benefitted to it. And this country is failing to develop due the scourge. There are no saints in this country.
