JB, Mutharika assist gospel songstress Princess Chitsulo
Malawi’s female gospel musicians Princess Chitsulo will finally leave for an operation in South Africa following assistance and offer she got from the President Joyce Banda and opposition leader Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Chitsulo famous for her ‘Yamba Wafuna’ track was diagnosed with heart problems last year and needs to undergo surgery in South Africa.
In a desperate attempt to source the funds, she last week organized a gospel show in which she realized K1.5 million.
However, President Banda showed a spirit of a caring mother on Wednesday by donating K1.5million through her Joyce Banda Foundation so that she should go for operation.
Mutharika has offered to foot the bill on Chitsulo’s operation and stay in South Africa. While former first lady Calista Mutharika has pledged a return air ticket to South Africa.
