Kabwafu wins in Super League preparation games

Newly promoted side into the top flight TNM Super League, Kabwafu F.C,   presented a promising future in the league after winning against Blue Eagles and Mafco F.C. in strength testing matches ahead of the league kickoff.

On Saturday, Kabwafu beat a new look Blue Eagles side 1-0 at the Nankhaka stadium before beating Mafco F.C 2-1 24 hours later.

A 47th minute strike from Charles Chilembo was enough to give the northern region side victory.

Chilembo slotted the ball home after beating two Blue Eagles defenders in the penalty box after receiving a nice set piece from the right.

Speaking after the match, Kabwafu F.C coach Oscar Kaunda said he was delighted with the win.

“I am happy that we have managed to win it’s not a mean achievement. This will take us a step further as our players will no longer have any fear as they meet other Super League clubs” said Kaunda who formerly served as Assistant Coach at Civo.

On Sunday, Kabwafu completed their journey in the central region beating soldiers of Salima, Mafco F.C 2-1 at Mafco.

Meanwhile, Kabwafu coach says he is still in need of new players to beef up the squad.

But Kaunda emphasized that he is not interested in signing players who already made their names on the domestic scene.

“It is true that am still in need of new players but not those who are already known because these kinds of players make unnecessary and big demands,” said Kaunda.
