Kabwila says JB a shame to Malawi
Outspoken academician-cum politician Malawi Congress Party (MCP) spokesperson Jesse Kabwila has called
Malawi President Joyce Banda a shame to the country following a catalogue of financial scandals under her watch.
Speaking at a news conference in Lilongwe on Frida, Kabwila said the President’s lack of knowledge of what is happening in the country shows how she is clue-less and out of touch.
“I mean why could she come out in public and tell the nation that she doesn’t know crucial issues happening in the country? Our founding father Ngwazi Kamuzu Banda used to tell ministers that they can’t cheat him because he knew everything and when things go wrong, he used to take responsibility and that’s what we call leadership.

“But our president Banda , I mean Joyce not Kamuzu, is the first in the world to admit that she doesn’t know everything that is happening in her own country,” she said.
During a news conference the Malawi leader held on Tuesday at Kamuzu Palace, Banda could not provide answers to many questions from journalists opting for her ministers to respond.
Kabwila said through lies and misrepresentation of facts, people have lost trust in the Peoples Party (PP) led government.
But Special Advisor to President Joyce Banda on Politics and Communication, Elias Wakuda Kamanga dismissed Kabwila’s outburst, saying Banda was “in total control of the state of affairs.”
