Former state vice president and now member of parliament for Mzimba South West, Khumbo Kachali was ruled out of order in the House for making insinuations.
Kachali congratulated Leader of the House, George Chaponda for being appointed Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development and thanked the President Peter Mutharika “for removing” him from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation “s o that we have a youthful Minister in Foreign Affairs who will not be meditating whenever there are discussions outside the country.”
His remarks attracted the wrath of government chief whip Henry Mussa who accused Kachali of making “insulting” remarks.
“He [Kachali] is actually flouting our own Standing Orders in particular Standing Order 99. He has to be ruled out of order perhaps withdraw those insinuating words. ,” said Mussa.
First Deputy Speaker, Ester Mcheka Chilenje, sustained the point of order.
