Kaliati, Chipungu to launch DPP wing in UK
Malawi ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) national organising secretary Chimwemwe Chipungu and minister of gender who is also the party’s director of women, Patricia Kaliati will launch the DPP UK Wing this Saturday August 23 in Leicester.
The event will take place at the Mercury Grand Hotel, located on 73 Grand Street in Leicester.
Organisers of the launch have indicated that they have invited people regardless of their political affiliation in the spirit of co-existence.
According to the programme seen by Nyasa Times, it will be a dinner and dance event with patrons paying a fee of £35 each.
The DPP UK wing is being led by Finlye Mbella ( Lieutenant Gen retired), coordinator Duncan Zambezi, secretary Marlene Chitedze , executive Rich Katimba.
Malawians in UK have other political groupings such as now dormant People’s Party wing, MCP wings and Petra.
