A delegation from Chief Mwenelupembe’s area in the district was not happy with the sharing of development projects and decided to fight with some of the council officials in order to make their stand known.

Karonga district station officer Rodrick Mpela confirmed the incident.

He said police officers were called in to pacify the situation.

“We managed to control the situation. Some people suffered injuries and we brought them to the district hospital for treatment ad they are all fine,” he said in an interview on Thursday.

Karonga District Council officials refused to comment on the matter on Friday.
