Ken Kandodo rejoins MCP: Kwachaaaaaaa!!!!
Ken Kandodo—who once served in Democratic Progress Party (DPP) and People’s Party (PP) governments as a Cabinet minister—has rejoined Malawi Congress Party (MCP), he has confirmed to Nyasa Times .
Kandodo is expected to be unveiled Wednesday at Mtunthama grounds in Kasungu where MCP district committee will hold a political rally.
In an interview, Kandodo confirmed about his return to MCP.
“I going back home. I have seen the political pendulum swinging in MCP favor and my future political fortunes lie in having a political home in MCP,” said Kandodo.
Kandodo is among four other prominent politicians expected to be welcomed in MCP fold this month, according to party sources.
The relation to founding president Ngwazi Kamuzu Banda, lost 2014 polls as Member of Parliament for Kasungu Central to a then little known but currently famous politician, Amon Nkhata who won on the MCP ticket.
However, Nkhata said Kandodo’s presence would strengthen the MCP.
Kandodo served as a DPP and, later, PP MP for the constituency between 2009 and 2014. He was appointed Minister of Finance on 15 June 2009 by former president, the late Bingu wa Mutharika and Minister of Defence under Joyce Banda regime.
