Keza building gutted by fire
Barely a week after fire razed down Farmers Organization Limited in Chitawira in the commericial city of Blantyre, the fate has flowed to plush office complex in the heart of Blantyre – Keza Building – which has suffered serious damage when fire ripped through the building.
The Building houses Maranatha International Schools classes and hostels.
As at 08:30 am the Blantyre City Fire Brigade services were handy trying to put out the raging fire.
Fire crews brought the blaze under control but they expect to be at the scene for some time to ensure all embers are fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, although there were no reported serious injuries apart from three girls sustaining what has been described as “minor injuries”.
At the height of the blaze, smoke could be seen billowing from the roof.
Keza Office Park was constructed by former President Bakili Muluzi but he sold the building to Petroda.
