Kondowe hat-trick fires Big Bullets to emphatic 5-0 rout of Silver Strikers

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets produced a commanding performance on Saturday, dismantling Silver Strikers 5-0 in the FDH Bank Premiership.

The People’s Team wasted no time taking control of the contest, with Ephraim Kondowe opening the scoring just one minute into the match. Kondowe struck again in the 34th minute to double Bullets’ advantage and put Silver Strikers under immense pressure.

With only two minutes remaining before the break, Wongani Lungu added a third goal for Bullets, leaving the Bankers frustrated and facing a mountain to climb in the second half.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Bullets continuing to press relentlessly and exposing Silver Strikers’ defensive weaknesses. The Bankers struggled to impose themselves on the match and appeared increasingly disorganised as the game progressed.

Kondowe completed his hat-trick in the 62nd minute, making it 4-0 and further underlining Bullets’ dominance. Ten minutes later, Misheck Biliati joined the scoring party, firing home in the 72nd minute to make it 5-0.

Silver Strikers were unable to find a response in the closing stages, as frustration grew among the players. Bullets comfortably saw out the remaining minutes to secure a comprehensive victory.

Silver Strikers head coach Peter Mgangira admitted his side had failed to execute their game plan.

“This is a very frustrating result, but we have to accept the defeat. We did not manage to hold Bullets as we failed to manage our game plan. We can’t blame the same players we have been relying on throughout the first round. This is a very wasteful result, but we have to learn from here and come strong in the second round of the game,” he said.

Bullets coach Wedson Nyirenda was pleased with his team’s performance, saying their preparations had focused on exploiting Silver Strikers’ strengths and weaknesses.

“The game was so easy to plan as we were playing a very good organised team, and our preparations were just to look at their strengths and weaknesses. We have been struggling to score from the chances we have been getting in other games, and this is the biggest motivation. We are not at our peak, but we will be there soon,” he said.

The emphatic victory will provide Bullets with significant confidence as they look to build momentum, while Silver Strikers will have to regroup and learn from a difficult outing.
