Diamonda led 14-12 in the first-quarter before increasing the tally to 26-22 and 38-32 afterwards.

Saenda hailed “sound sponsorship” from Capital Oil Refining Industry (Cori) to have been the main force behind the Diamonds, saying “ no team in the country can beat us in the domestic netball arena”

“It’s sad for the players but that’s sport. The players gave everything, they were brave and did their best. Congratulations to the Kukoma Diamonds,” said Thunder Queens coach-cum-general secretary Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji.
