Afro pop, RnB artist Kumbu is working on a new album titled ‘Zikomo’ set for release in November.
In preparation, Kumbu will drop a single off the album on Monday.
The new song ‘Sitopu’ is actually vernacular for Stop.
In an interview Kumbu confirmed the development “Yes I am indeed working on a new project, new album to say. I have had to take abit of time and try to re-invent myself”.
Kumbu says he has had to go back to his old touch just to make the music that he is known for and prove to his fans that’s that he can really deliver best quality mature music.
“So I have started off by giving the people a taste of my new music by reeasing a single titles sitopu, a song thats indeed coming out on monday Officialy just so that they prepare for the full project”. says Kumbu.
The song is going to be on all radio stations and all Malawi music websites.
Kumbu furthest says ‘Sitopu’ is going to be played on Joy Nathus #MadeOnMonday show but not as a premier.
Produced by Tricky Beatz, ‘Sitopu’ will be followed by ‘Zikomo’ the album titled track.
The album ‘Zikomo’ is a dedication to Malawi as a nation and to his fans for supporting him through all the years he has been in the music industry.
However the title track itself talkes about a husband appreciating his wife for the love and support she gives him agains all odds.
Kumbu narrates how the album title came about “Dan Lu was with me on the day of recording and we had quite a good time in the studio”.
“He loved the song so much and he actually is the one who told me to make it the album title” says Kumbu.
