Lawyer found dead in his house
A lawyer with the Ministry of Justice was on Wednesday morning found dead in his house in Area 51 in Lilongwe.
Police National Spokesperson James Kadadzera said Senior State Advocate, Trevor Mphalale’s body was found hanging in his house.
“It is true. Police found the body hanging in his house, Area 51.
‘Currently, the body is at Kamuzu Central Hospital pending postmortem to establish the cause of death,” said Kadadzera.
Mphalale was until his death serving as a Senior State Advocate in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ( DPP).
He came in the limelight together with lawyers Ruth Kaima and Chikondi Chijozi when the trio successfully handled the case of the erstwhile police officer, Andrew Chagaga, who was later convicted and sentenced by the Blantyre High Court to 30 years in jail for raping a 17-year-old MUBAS student then Polytechnic.
