Legislators demand for immediate recruitment of auditor general

Legislators have demanded for an immediate recruitment of an Auditor General.
This comes as the country has not had an auditor general for six years now.
The legislators expressed the concern when they were debating on a report of the Public Appointments Committee on matters relating to the National Audit Office.

Mark Botomani
The Report was presented to the House on Wednesday, 7th December, 2022.
Mark Botoman, Chairperson for Public Accounts Committee said the office of AG needs to be operational in a bid to help in the fight against corruption, a view that both sides of the house had nodded to.
And on his part Sosten Gwengwe, Minister of Finance said with the overwhelming support that the acting Auditor General is receiving in parliament, it shows how crucial the office is.
Gwengwe has since  since revealed that the advert for the Auditor General post will be out in local papers starting from tomorrow Thursday.
