Lightning kills 12 year old boy in Mulanje

A 12 year boy has been struck to death by a lightning due to heavy rains that poured on Wednesday afternoon in Mulanje district.

According to Mulanje Police publicist James Kadadzera, the deceased Madalitso Mbokola was sleeping in his bedroom when he met his fate while his brother Frank who was in the living room has sustained injuries and has been admitted at Mulanje district hospital.

“According to our investigations, the boys were both in their house when they met their fate and we are currently still investigating if at all there are other accidents that have also happened due to the rains”, said Kadadzera.

Both the deceased and the brother hail from Chisinkha village Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje.

The rains which were associated by heavy winds according to the publicist have also damaged several houses and trees in Makoloma and Njedza villages.–Mana
