Likoma needs attention, says Malawi VP Kachali

Malawi Vice President Khumbo Kachali has said Likoma district needs urgent attention in mobility to ensure that people on the Islands have access to basic necessities.

Kachali was speaking on the Islands on Saturday when he attended a Centenary celebration service at St. Micheals Anglican Church.

The Vice President acknowledged that wheneever the Illala is out of service the people are cut off from the mainland.

“I came to appreciate the challenges that people face and brain storm together on how we can solve some of the long standing problems,” said Kachali.

The Vice President promised the people that President Joyce Banda will visit the Island as she is serving all Malawians.

“Your problems are her problems, the challenges you face and your concerns, President Joyce Banda shares them,” said Kachali.

ArchBishop of Central Africa Albert Chama said the administration of President Banda had shown that it has welfare of all Malawians at heart.
