“[The song] has been downloaded thousands of times,” he said while revealing that the music video, which was shot in Botswana “will soon be on all popular music video channels such MTV Base and Channel O.”

The two rappers are working to partner with professional distributors who already have a network in major regions worldwide to market the CD.

“Currently we are in the process of getting partners for the launch,” disclosed Zeus in an emailed interview.

Born Game Bantsi, the Motswana rapper told Nyasa Times he will be touring a couple of African countries, saying “our home countries are the first stops.”

“I had a great time when I was there [in Malawi] and I would love to keep visiting for a lifetime.”

The Channel O award-winning hip-hop artist described Malawian producers and artists as amazing.

“[When I was in Malawi] I was amazed by the talent, commitment and youthful energy on the scene,” he said. “I was at the Lake Of Stars concert and saw Third Eye, Young Kay and Tay Grin perform dope hip-hop sets.”

He revealed that he was also featured on Third Eye’s song which will be on the Lilongwe-based rapper’s new album to be released soon.

Zeus said there is little difference between Botswana and Malawi’s music industries because both are still in their infancy.

The ‘Double Wowza’ album features other Malawian artist such as Theo Thompson, Young Kay, Sonye, Yesaya, Wizymes and DareDevils. It also features other African artists like Wyre, Nameless and Madtraxx from Kenya.

Licence to Kill

Meanwhile, Lomwe says he is working on his solo CD called ‘License to Kill’ which will be released soon and as indicated by the ‘Nyau Killer’, the album features the likes of the DareDevils, Rina, Nic, AB and Blasto.

After coming home from the BBA, Lomwe was endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism as their ambassador and has also been endorsed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a goodwill ambassador.

He has already been at work with the UNDP at numerous colleges and high schools talking to students encouraging them to join the UNDP volunteer programmes.
