Malawi’s music superstar Lucius Banda is in Ireland where he is set to perform at a beauty pageant dubbed Miss Malawi Ireland which will be held at Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley in Dublin on Saturday June 23.
The ‘Solider’ as he is popularly known, arrived on Wednesday and told Nyasa Times exclusively, that he is in Ireland to give his fans an “unforgettable performance.”
He will perform at the first ever Miss Malawi Ireland.
“Our theme is to bring together solidarity within our community,” the organizers said.
The contestants for the crown include: Betina Khozi, Atupele Mondiwa, Jacque Konyani, Tina Maunde, Evelyn Suwedi, Denise Anthony, Prema Tewetsa and Nunu Nsidwa Kambauwa.
The organisers Grace Matsuka, Clara Chiro, Quent Katoleza, Jubheda Chande Alinane Harawa, and Briston Chilunjika were at the airport to welcome ‘Soldier’ and had a set of celebrity photo opportunity with him.
Prizes worth 1,000 Euros would be won at the beauty pageant.
They envisage the show will end at midnight, culminating in the traditional ‘after party’ which will run until daybreak with the performances of Lucius Banda , DJ Mada Njirima two solo artists Charlene and Lydia.
Tickets for the show ar4e now on sale at €25 (Euros) on the door they would be €30 (Euros).
