Lucius to spice up Fisd Challenge Cup launch
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has announced that Malawi’s music icon Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band will spice up the launching ceremony of the newly introduced K45 million Fisd Challenge Cup.
The launch will take place this Saturday at the Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo.
Unlike other domestic cups where big teams are featured during launch, the Fisd Challenge Cup launch match will involve lower league teams.
“The play off match between Dululu FC and Mwanza Madrid will be part of the launch which will also be spiced up by a live music show by Lucius Banda” said Fam Competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka in a statement released on Wednesday.
Zakazaka said Sports Minister Henry Mussa will be the guest of honour at the launch.
The regional level of Fisd Challenge Cup gets underway into full swing this weekend in all the three regions of the country.
So far one play off match was played in the Central Region on Tuesday where Lake Valley beat Madisi Madrid 4-1.
