Lumeta now Nedbank brand ambassador: Malawi tennis star

Malawi’s lawn tennis whiz-kid Chisomo Lumeta has been installed as brand ambassador for commercial bank Nedbank with the bank committing to sponsor him for two years to the tune of K3 million.

Lumeta, the second top tennis player in Africa under-16 category, recently won silver medal at Africa Youth Championship which was held in Botswana.

Installing him as bank’s brand ambassador on Wednesday, Nedbank managing director Paul Guta said they were swayed by Lumeta’s exploits on the continent.

“We’ll make things happen for you, all the regalia and stuff. We’ll walk with you on the path to success,” Guta said depicting the bank’s motto.

Lumeta described the sponsorship as “timely” and thanked Nedbank, saying “its an honour to be recognised by such a giant of a bank.”

He added: “I will make you proud, I will be your good brand ambassador, thank you Nedbank,”

Malawi National Council of Sports board member Krishna Achuthan and Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) board member Ken Dzekedzeke thanked Nedbank for the timely sponsorship.
