Mada K: New kid on the block in gospel music

In Malawi, rarely do up and coming artists shoot to fame with first releases. One has to toil in the studio for years and release more than a single to get a nod from music lovers but. Blantyre based gospel artist Madalitso Kalikokha alias Mada is in his own world.

When he first announced the release of his two singles Yafika and Uza Yesu in January this year, it was an obvious story, but not after listening to the hits.
Unlike many budding artists, Mada’s songs do not need several listening to get a like. The music carry in-depth and relevant messages weaved dramatically and artistically to petition the mind. No wonder, despite that his songs have been on air for four months now, they continue to enjoy massive airplay on most local radio stations and are among the hits in radio music charts.

He is a complete artist–the real quality that Malawi needs in the quest to define music as an art and not career for riches.

Liken him to Lulu and you won’t be wrong as this is what the quality in the just released videos of the two songs proves. He has the voice that talks directly to the mind. Even the video approach shows he is a favourite of international videos.
Mada says he is set to launch his debut album Kufuna kokha  late this year and to give music lovers a taste of his quality, the artist has organised a music show slated for October 5 at the Robins Park where he will rub shoulders with stars such as Lulu whose Mathumela band will also back all artist.
“It is all about time and aiming for the best. I have taken my time to work on the songs and the videos and I am not surprised that people are falling in love with my products,” says the RnB and Afro Pop artist.

Mada features in his album some music stars such as Lulu.
