Makondetsa scoops ‘Best Male’ artist in MAM Music Awards

Chileka-based reggae artist, Anthony Makondetsa aka “Mr Cool” Friday night scooped the “Best Male” award in the Musicians Association of Malawi (MAM) Music Awards 2013-2014 held at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.

The “Mbumba Ya Abraham” singer scooped the award after outshining top Malawian musicians including Lucius Banda, Skeffa Chimoto, Maskal, Piksy and Lulu.

Makondetsa received the award in absentia as he was reportedly “not feeling well”, as announced by former Malawi representative at the Big Brother Africa 2013, Fatima Nkata, who hosted the awards.
