Super-talented award winning artist Malala, real name James Kuchilala, has announced early next month for launch of his second album titled Drain Out to be held at M-Theatre in the commercial capital Blantyre.
He told Nyasa Times that he has worked extensively on the album after his debut Tsogolo in 2014.
“I believe in uniqueness as an artist. That is why it has taken me about four years to come up with a second.
“Those that will come will experience my unique guitar-style and how I ably fuse Malawian music ideas with western concepts,” he said.
In Drain Out, the 2017 Nyasa Music Awards Best Acoustic winner and Mzanga Bulaki hitmaker will, features such songs as Chilungamo, Chirombo, Here I Come and Kuli Chete.
“The album carries a general message of love towards one another,” he said.
One of the songs in the album Watsala won a 2014 music competition organized by UN in Malawi under the theme Eradicating Violence Against Women and Children.
The launch will be spiced by Dikamawoko Cultural Troupe of Dikamawoko Arts.
