Malawi President Joyce Banda has made some changes to her cabinet.

In the reshuffle, the Malawi leader has appointed Goodall Gondwe as Economic Planning and Development following the resignation of Atupele Muluzi on Monday.

Muluzi resigned following what he suspects is a political conspiracy against him by senior members of the governing People’s Party (PP) of President Banda.

Gondwe’s appointment comes weeks after Banda declined that the renowned economist and herself were discussing of his inclusion into cabinet.

In the reshuffle, the President has also stripped Justice Minister Ralph Kasambara the post of Attorney General and appointed Solicitor General Anthony Kamanga to be the new Attorney General.
