When did the voice of the Holy father become personal opinion. I thought it is infallible
here in malawi we got vocations to priesthood, therefore yeah younger priests, in europe many are very old and not many vocations kwa azathuko. i guesmost are in retirement home. now this suggestion may fit well in those areas khayatu., ihear they ordain deacons . we are still lucky to have youngier priests. ayambile konko kaye bwa

Time to become a priest is a whisker of a cat away. I think the Pope is being real in this case. Even Paul the Apostle said ‘only if you can, you can forgo marriage to serve the Lord’. With so many stories of child molestation, pregnancies and other sexual immoral stories involving catholic priests the only remedy is to allow men of God to have a wife while serving the priesthood. The possibility of viri probati is a welcome development to upgrade some catechists of proven faith given that prior to the Second Vatican Council, the chief catechists at the parish level were priests, religious brothers or nuns. Now as Catechist are part of the ordinary laity but doing the work of priest in the priest’s absence, the parish catechist takes on the role of being the main teacher of the faith in that parish.
