Malawi coach names squad for CECAFA tournament

Malawi national soccer team coach Kinnah Phiri has released a 25-man squad in readiness of the 2012 Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup to kick-off on November 24-December 8, 2012 in Kampala, Uganda.

The players are expected to go into training camp on Sunday at Chiwembe Technical Centre.

Kinnah has called-up Silver Strikers new catch Charles Swini, Owen Chaima and Red Lions goalkeeper Brighton Ngwenyama to man the posts,as he has excluded inform Mighty Wanderers goalie Richard Chipuwa.

In defence, the Flames tactician has roped in Mighty Wanderers veteran defender Moses ‘Luba’ Chavula, Bongani Kaipa, Francis Mlimbika, George Nyirenda, Steven Chagoma, Patrick Masanjala, Pilirani Makupe and Civo United John ‘Kintu’ Lanjesi.

On the midfield, the Malawi coach has handed calls to Joseph ‘Shakira’ Kamwendo, Dave ‘Mr Angola’ Banda, Chimango Kayira, Ndaziona Chatsalira, Peter ‘Pido’ Pindani and man of the moment Macium Mhone.

Striking force includes  Big Bullets red-hot striker Gabadihno Mhango, Gastin Simkonda, Chiukepo Msowoya, Rodrick Gonani, Green Harawa and Azam Tigers Moses Nankhumba.
