Malawi court jails Tanzanian to 10 years for child trafficing offences
The Chitipa magistrate court has sentenced a Tanzanian woman to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for trafficking four children to her country.
Her Malawian masterminder Daniel Simfukwe has been jailed for seven years on the offence.
Police prosecutor Reynard Chabwera told the court that Piri Mwamphasi, the convicted Tanzanian child trafficker even camped in a village in Chitipa looking for the children whom she wanted to work in farms in Tanzania.
Chabwera said Simfukwe is the one who was running around getting the children for Mwamphasi.
Over 70 children are yet to be brought back to Malawi after they were rescued in South Africa a few months ago.
