Malawi cyclists given new bikes by Glasgow shop for C’wealth games

Malawi cycling team has been given new bikes by a Glasgow shop after theirs were found to be unfit for purpose, reported Scotland Television (STV).

Neil Bilsland, of independent bike shop Bilsland Cycles, said he found out that the cycles which Team Malawi came with from Africa, were in a poor state of repair and he offered to step in.

STV reported that the bikes were fixed as best as he and his staff could manage, but he was still worried about the Malawi team embarrassing themselves or having an accident.

It was then that he offered the entire team use of bikes from his store throughout the entire duration of the Games.
