Malawi election case ruling arrives in Lilongwe for judgement day Feb 3

Five judges who were sitting in the Constitutional Court in Lilongwe hearing the election case have on Saturday afternoon arrived in Lilongwe from their seclusion place in Nkhata Bay where they were writing the landmark ruling.

The judges arrived in Lilongwe amid Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and police tight security.

At dilapidated Mzuzu airport, a military donnier plane was waiting for them.

They flew from Mzuzu to Lilongwe with the ruling ahead of announcing it on Monday, February 3 2020.

Meanwhile, Lilongwe is gripped with anxiety, apprehension, excitement and fear ahead of the ruling.

On Saturday, main shops like Chipiku and Shoprite saw thousands of people in frenzy shopping as residents are stocking essential necessities including food.

Shop owners have also enhanced the security of their buildings by covering up all glass walls with hard wood or metal.

Both the police and MDF have assured people of enhanced security to protect lives and their property.

  2. The ruling is in Thine hand, O Lord! Save Thy children, the people of Malawi from oppression, corruption and greed of our present leaders like Thou didest unto our brethren, the children of Israel from the bondage of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Giue us a wise, loving and God-fearing president who will treat all Malawians equally without nepotism, favouritism and greed. A president who will uphold justice and accountability like unto Solomon, King David’s son. Someone people would mistake for Jesus due to his loving kindness and good deeds unto all Malawians regardless of where one comes from, which party or tribe s/he belongs.. A president who will equally share the national cake. Give thy children Malawians, therefore, a servant president with an understanding heart to lead and judge thy people that he may discern between good and bad for who is able to judge this thy great people, Malawians? In Your Name, my loving Saviour, Redeemer, Creator, Lord and King, Jesus Christ, Hear my prayer, O Lord. AMEN!

  3. in case you have forgotten that the case was about irregularities in poll management system not stolen votes so if APM has a case with stolen vote therefore this will another case on one hand but will be one of those irregularities on the other hand which will need nullification of the previous poll

    1. according to the electoral act irregularities must show that a person was disadvantaged. be it a voter or candidate. kawerengeniso

  4. Let the judgement flow. Malawi will never again be ruled by anthu otuwa, osaphunzira okulila kudambwe. Usaveji pa Malawi Toto. Nonse mumabwera mu matruck akaunjika ochokera ku Dowa, Mponela, kwaKabudula ku Nsaru, kwa Msundwe etc kudzaba, kugenda ndi kuotcha muona polekera mawa ndi mbusa Nyolonyo wanuyo. Kwawo kwawo kwawo dzinyau dzonse.

    1. This kuswa kuswa guy is a shame in the SOCIETY. Actually, you are a wasted sperm from your late father. It is regrettable that you were born because
your mother failed to abort . Shame on you

  5. if ruling will be in favour of those that wanted to bribe you judges so that you should rule in their favour then don’t be suprised when people get suprised with your ruling

    1. By arresting Thom Mpunganjira really showed and reflect that Devils People’s Party lost this case.
What influenced him to bribe is his DPP was in the right truck about court proceedings
Why was hesent to bribe the judges?
I sorely wish those judges come with what they exposed to the Chief Justice Nyirenda as legitimate
Plse judges release Malawians from these crooks and cabaals
God be on people’s sides not one tribe of Llomwez

      1. You might be surprised if the two respondents win. It’s when you will know that politics is a dirty game.

  6. We should all remember that APM said that his votes were also stolen. So lose or win APM is going to appeal for his stolen votes. The entire case was only for MCP and UTM stolen votes. What about those votes that were stolen from DPP?

    1. If Peter Munthalika’s votes were stolen he was not supposed to accept that he won .He was supposed to join those who were robbed their votes. Which means all three parties were supposed to be one team against MEC that the election was not properly conducted. Instead he has been telling people around the world that he won clean and square, , Peter Munthalika should have also petitioned the court that his votes were stolen as same as other two parties did, this would show that he was an original person instead he has shown us he is fake and loves power too much than he loves Malawi. So once MEC announced that he is ahead, there was no reason to petition the court for the stolen votes,he doesn’t care about Malawi prosperity. He cares much about himself and his zilombo squad. He just wanted to be ahead of the presidential race that all.

  7. Welcome our judges. We are anxiously awaiting the judgement. We will celebrate responsibly. We can’t wait
